Plate of the U.S.S. Mason DDG 87

From Mainport Designs. Dinner plate is of the U.S.S. Mason DDG 87 built by Bath Iron Works in Bath, Maine, 2001. This was the last destroyer traditionally launched on inclined ways, June 23, 2001. The plate is 10 1/2" in diameter from Straffordshire Wares. Each plate is from a hand tooled copper engraving process used in the Eighteenth Century. The copper engraving is used to print the transfer on the plate before being fired. Designed by Archie Main, Jr., naval architect. Dishwasher safe. - $20.00
